1942 Ford GTB Burma Jeep Motors Through Time
Ford's new "Burma Jeep" was officially designated the "GTB-G622" and was also known as the Ford GTB 1.5 ton truck. The engine of the GTB was a standard Ford in-line six cylinder four stroke "L-head" gasoline engine producing 90hp @ 3,400rpm, and capable of running on 70 octane fuel although it would no doubt have been able to use.

One such vehicle is the Ford GTB-622 which was referred to as the "Burma Jeep" -a name that persists today. The term is somewhat misleading, because the vehicle is very obviously not a Jeep (in the same sense as a Willys vehicle of that name), and nobody knows for absolute certainty whether or not examples were used in Burma.

These are called a Ford GTB or Burma Jeep as they were used in the massive effort to build the Burma Road. Quite a few interesting videos on You Tube about the Burma Road. This example was manufactured in 1942. It has just arrived in the UK a few weeks ago. It is on the NOVA database and has the US Title.
